- After getting a B.A. in English, then an M.A. and finally, a J.D. I decided against life in the big law firm and started to teach law part-time. This had a big impact on our finances, so I started down this path of frugality. I read dozens of books and started tracking every penny we spent. I put up charts and graphs to track our spending, our savings, and our path to FI. We have not yet reached complete FI, but are well on our way. The purpose of this blog is to keep myself motivated on this path and to share with others simple ideas that can help anyone get closer to achieving their own financial independence.
